Hunsaker said that under construction are stores in Molalla, Prineville and Eugene, and across the Columbia River in Washougal, Wash. Meanwhile, Bi-Mart continues to expand into other areas. Hunsacker said the renovated building, at the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway intersection, is expected to be finished during the first half of 2001. He said Waremart’s lease continues until February. “We will remodel that existing space … as soon as Waremart releases the building for our occupancy,” said Richard Hunsaker, director of real estate for Bi-Mart. Only a block away, Home Depot is continuing its plans to add a new store to its chain of builders’ supply outlets.īi-Mart’s plans are proceeding more quickly. Opening in its place at a later date will be Bi-Mart, a Northwest discounter based in Eugene. In printed notices to customers available at checkstands, Waremart said its lease is expiring, and its last day of business at 4750 S.W. Waremart will leave its Western Avenue location in Beaverton, only to be replaced by Bi-Mart, a membership chain selling goods ranging from camping stoves to jars of pickles.
